Two Blogging Tips You Can Use Right Now
Filed Under (Blogging) by peter on 08-06-2009
You encounter many professional bloggers who are talking about ways to drive more traffic to your blog, but these methods are very time consuming.
Many times they’ll tell you to engage other bloggers and make yourself known to them so they’ll comment on your blogs or just become aware of you. They will also recommend that you link to other bloggers’ posts because these bloggers know who is linking to them and this increases their awareness of you and your site.
Those are all great tips, but if you want to increase website traffic without having to do a lot of time-consuming work there are some easy things to do that will get you more traffic.
On-page optimization tip-
It has been my experience that it only takes a few quality backlinks to get your domain name highly ranked if you’re using good keywords in your domain name.
A keyword-rich domain name is one of the most powerful search engine optimization aspects for a website. You should be aware of this and take it into consideration prior to building a new site.
For example, if you own a domain name called bluegreenwidgets dot com, you can rank well for the term bluegreenwidgets with only a few backlinks.
The title of the website itself is the second most important on-page optimization factor you can have. Here you are advised to mix in a variation of your domain name, but use two sets of keywords for the site’s title.
In the example above, you would give the domain name bluegreenwidgets the site title of Blue Widgets – Green Widgets. The reason you want to do this is to gain maximum benefit from your on page factors and not just give your website the same title as the domain name.
That is a good tip which will get you a higher ranking and more traffic with less effort, just by taking 15 seconds to make a few changes.
Blog writing tips-
It’s diificullt to write a lot of good content to a lot of sites all the time, especially if you are doing some niche affiliate marketing in some niches you don’t know much about.
The secrets here is to write when you feel compelled to do so and to write with authority and passion. Obviously you can’t write with authority and passion unless you know something about your niche topic. The solution to this is to get free website content and to learn more about your niche by reading the newspaper and watching some television.
If you picked a niche that is related to a very popular and general topic, then you will find plenty of information from newspaper, magazines and telelvision if you become tuned in to this content. Then what you need to do is to write about what’s hot right now and relates to your niche topics.
