I wanted a laptop that would replace my four year old 17 inch Gateway. I liked my old laptop but wanted something smaller. I looked at netbooks but they didn't have enough power for my needs. I like an occasional game or two. I went to a computer store and played with their laptops for a while and liked the HP Touchsmart. The model that they had displayed was one with a 320 Gig hard drive and it had a 12.1 inch screen anp only weighed a little more than four pounds. It also was a tablet PC which was intriguing with 4 gigs of memory. The feature that I found desirable was the touchscreen. It fascinated me and made on screen selections so much easier. It also came with a remote and a stylus.I tried it and I liked it.
So when I arrived home I checked Amazon.com and HP's website. I discovered that there was a model of the TouchSmart with 500 gigs of storage. I was sold. Hp offered a lower price but Amazon had a [...] dollar rebate which brought the cost below what Hp offered. They both offered free shipping. I purchased from Amazon and received my new laptop in two days. I am very satisfied with its performance.

I replaced my Fujitsu U820 with this machine. This machine is great the screen is the perfect tablet size. The action feels snappy. The startup and shutdown times are quick. It's actually a useable tablet. I've owned five other tablet PC's from Acer to Sony and this one is the best so far. It's about a pond heavier than I would like and the battery should last about an hour longer but overall it's great. Oh, it should have Bluetooth built in but I got a cheap small usb dongle and it works fine.

This is a very nice laptop.
The battery life isnt the best, but that's because it's a powerful laptop.
I was debating on getting this or the Eee PC T91 Touchscreen that my roommate got. I am glad I made this choice. His screen is too small, only has 16GB ssd, and touchscreen isnt as nice. On the other hand, his battery life is longer, and his laptop has no moving parts (no hdd or fan). This also has a much better cpu (I would have preferred Intel, but AMD is good too), and a lot more RAM. Mine is better.
I really like the fingerprint scanner. My last laptop had one, but the location on this one is better. Everything works great in Windows 7 RC. Waiting for my upgrade from Vista to 7 rmt, but I know everything will work fine.
I also bought the 3yr warranty plan from squaretrade. I would definitely recommend getting that as well if you buy this laptop, or any laptop. You cant beat 3 yrs for $100, especially with a touchscreen that could mess up on you. Dont take a $900 chance, and feel secure.

The card sound is very good, With external speakers and subwoofer sounds good. In general the laptop work without problems and wake up in only 5 seconds, in mode sleep. The mode sleep is activated like my palm sony clié, sliding a button. This is very useful for extend the battery life in the meetings.

The HP Tablet provides everything a laptop should, plus a whole lot more. It's light, compactand convenient for any task or location. The fact that it so accurately converts handwriting to type is an excellent bonus! When the screen is rotated and set to tablet mode, a touch of the screen reveals a virtual mouse. I love it, and would absolutely buy it

Of course if you buy the wrong laptop for your specific needs then it can be a nightmare for you. If you buy a latop with no enough memory or an old processor than things will move very slowly for you and that is a bad thing.
You need your info fast and waiting around for the computer when you have other things to do is not a good idea.
